2012 is supposed to signify the end of humanity as we know it.
i get the feeling that we lost our sense of humanity a long time ago, when we started believing war was necessary even when it wasn’t, when we started treating women like objects, when we became more comfortable with two men holding guns than holding hands, when 20,000 dead became a passive statement, when the government cared more about the money in their pocket than the livelihood of it’s citizens, when you can be beaten for how you look and what you believe, when we started idolising complete strangers and being oblivious to the names of our neighbours, when a womans right to her own body was under the control of the government, when the majority was allowed to vote on whether or not you could get married, when people started caring more about labels and forgetting the most important one, ‘human’..
and when we stopped fighting for each other, that was the day that we lost our humanity.

you’ve been through a lot and life isn’t easy and it’s okay to go at your own pace. loss is continuous and heartbreaking and the daunting thought of future loss and hardship weighs heavily on your mind, but don’t stress yourself out every single night worrying about tomorrow and worrying about your future, you will be okay, and the future of those you love, they will be okay as well. you have many years of happiness ahead of you and everything will work out in the end. Stop comparing yourself to people who are more well off or more attractive than yourself, because there is always someone who has it worse than you and even if not matter how hard you try you are unable to see it or feel it, you are intrinsically beautiful just because you are - me, to myself and to anyone else who has ever felt inadequate.
